Relax and reenergize by spending the day on one of the many local beaches the line the coast. The Ojochal-Uvita area is known for having some of the most beautiful and unusual beaches in Costa Rica including Playa Ventanas, a secluded sandy beach that forms a bay; and Playa Uvita, a sandbar in the shape of that whale’s tail that forms a beach during low tide.

Experience local waterfalls the “Cascadas” owned by a wonderful family who will invite you into their home. If you are more adventurous, plan a hike or horseback tour of the Nauyaca Waterfalls, one of the top 5 waterfalls in the country.

Ojochal, with its diverse landscape is a magical place. The beaches, like Playa Ventanas, are gorgeous. The mountains are spectacular. There is no place like it in Costa Rica. Villas Santerras is in the heart of this jewel of a vacation destination. The villas are beautiful, the pool is divine and Danny and Louie really make you feel like family. The area feels safe and there is lots to explore, places to eat and people to meet.

We are a family of adventurers who like to tread off the beaten path and create unique experiences with our kids. We spent three weeks living at Villas Santerras, spending our days at the beaches, zip lining or hiking to the beautiful nearby waterfalls. The town of Ojochal has everything you need to make yourself at home, including a baker from France! Danny and Louie are great guys who got along great with our kids. We can’t wait to go back and visit them again on our next family trip!
